Fujifilm Rolls Out EB-710US Ultrasound Bronchoscope

EB-710US introduces a novel balloon-less design and allows precise tissue apposition.

Fujifilm Healthcare Americas has launched the EB-710US ultrasound bronchoscope, a next-gen endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) designed to streamline workflow and enhance imaging performance for pulmonogists.

EB-710US introduces a novel balloon-less design and allows precise tissue apposition, supported by a 180° acute bending angulation, a 6.4 mm distal end, and a 5.9 mm insertion tube for enhanced maneuverability and access. The scope’s balloon-less design helps reduce infection risks associated with the balloon like residual contamination after reprocessing and biofilm formation.

At the core of the bronchoscope is the company’s high performance ultrasound transducer, which was designed for enhanced resolution and deep penetration for a clear, detailed ultrasound image.

Traditional EBUS scopes rely on a balloon at the tip to create consistent contact between the ultrasound probe and the airway wall. The balloon must be carefully attached and checked to ensure there are no air bubbles—even small bubbles can interfere with ultrasound transmission.

Thanks to Fujifilm’s introduction of the new scope in the U.S., now there’s no need to manually attach or position a balloon for the procedure.
